NodeJS or Vagrant ?

This video was in a earlier lesson and Jake answered a user question that said you dont need Vagrant just use Nodejs. So my question is do I need Vagrant or just use Nodejs? Im using a mac os fyi

You can use NodeJS if you install it on your local device, including Macs. But we suggest you use vagrant so you don’t have to keep installing new dependencies.
